TERRATEC’s TR3000 Raise Boring Machines has successfully completed two shaft in last months in the copper mines in Sichuan Province in China.

The two shafts done till now were for ventilation purposes, being of 3.1m in diameter. The rock encountered by the RBM was of medium strength, averaging 100 MPa of Uniaxial Simple Compression. The reaming work was completed in 28 days and the second one in 16 days, what represents a record in the Country for this size of shaft.

After these two shafts, the Raise Borer is now being moved to other mining region in the North of the Country to go for several 300m deep inclined shaft of 2.4m in diameter.
